The Complete Heretic's Guide to Western Religion
Hi, I’m David Fitzgerald, atheist activist, historian and author. I’m the director and co-founder of the world’s first Atheist Film Festival and Evolutionpalooza!, San Francisco’s oldest Darwin Day celebration, but I’m best known as a public speaker at national events like Skepticon, and as the author of Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed At All. As you may know, in the next few weeks I’m launching a new book series, The Complete Heretic’s Guide to Western Religion, a thoughtful, painstakingly-researched and unapologetically smart-assed investigation of all aspects of religion, beginning in Book One with perhaps the most fascinating, bizarre and entertaining faith of them all: the Mormons. You can help launch the new series by preordering your copy through Indiegogo. As my thank you, you’ll get your copy early, personally autographed and at a hefty discount. And besides discounted advance copies, you and/or your local atheist group/campus student organization can also get special gift premiums for contributing more. About Funding: This series will be entirely self-published, so I’m primarily raising money to cover the specific costs of editing, formatting, cover design, cover art, illustrations, Indiegogo platform fees and printing runs. The other two remaining expenses are for a new website and to replace my dying, decrepit MacBook with a more up-to-date laptop. Depending on the success of the Indiegogo campaign, the book launch is expected to be in December 2012, or January 2013. If you appreciate the work I’ve been doing for the atheist and freethought communities, I know you’ll enjoy the books in this series. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you who contribute and help promote the project. If for whatever reason you can’t make a contribution, you can still help by getting the word out to your fellow heretics, and please do - Check out Indiegogo’s share tools. Thank you all for your love and support! As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via Facebook or e-mail. All the best, -David Fitzgerald
