Fort George, St. James
I am a writer, filmmaker, Director of the Carnival Institute.
I’m a born and bred Trini who has studied and written about pan since the early 1990s, when I first began telling the stories of the pioneers in the Sunday Express. Those articles were collected into a book, If Yuh Iron Good You Is King. I also wrote Renegades, and my doctoral thesis, Tin Pan to TASPO, 1939-1951. I have lectured on pan at universities, and wrote two prize-winning films on the subject: Re-Percussions and PAN! Our Music Odyssey.,
