Giving a voice to those who don't have one through film

Anouar H. Smaine is an independent award winning film director, writer and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is very much interested in the human condition and what it is that brings people with different cultural, economic, and philosophical backgrounds to communicate, collaborate, innovate, and ultimately forge life long friendships. Through analytical writing and filmmaking, Anouar attempts to provide a different perspective on diverse issues which a given society might deal with. Anouar's latest film "Axis of Evil" dealt with the thorny issue of illegal immigration and the struggles (both sad and funny at the same time) which two roommates from the Arab world deal with to survive in Los Angeles. Anouar also works as a Political and Foreign Policy Analyst for Examiner in Los Angeles. He holds two masters degrees from Eastern Michigan University; Political Science and French, and holds a Filmmaking Degree from the New York Film Academy. Finally, he speaks, reads and writes French and Arabic perfectly.
