Steve Marra

Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

Steve Marra is a Los Angeles fugitive and UCLA Film School grad. He has been involved in nearly every aspect of film and television production. Shortly after film school, Steve was commissioned to write his first screenplay, Lifesong, for NBC Entertainment. He has written twelve complete scripts since and plans to produce several of them under his production banner: Adrenaline Motion Pictures.

While immersed in the LA production culture, Steve was called upon to co-produce several cable television pilots, including the witchcraft thriller, The Coven, and the raunchy comedy series, Meet Market. Steve also ran the sound department for Ossi Von Richtofen's quirky documentary, Cadillac Ranch.

Eventually, many new opportunities enticed Steve to move back home to
Indiana. His first new assignment was to edit the independent feature film, The Third Date. Steve's reputation as a "creative" editor soon garnered him a plethora of work for Discovery Networks, including the syndicated wilderness series, Game Warden Wildlife Journal.

Steve worked with producer/director Betsy Blankenbaker to edit and associate produce her documentary, New York In The 50's. The feature, based on Dan Wakefield's book of the same name, soon became the quintessential film about one of the most influential times in New York's history—Greenwich Village, The Beats, art, jazz, poetry and, above all, creative writing. The film made its gala premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was sold to the Showtime Network. The film is now available on DVD and video.

Steve also co-produced and edited Ms. Blankenbaker's second film, Something To Cheer About. This is the true story of Coach Ray Crowe and his high school basketball team, which was the only all-black team in America to ever win a state championship. The International Documentary Association screened STCA for two-weeks in LA to qualify for the Academy Awards.

Steve has co-produced, edited, directed and secured the financing for three award-winning short films: Legwork, Finale and Evidence of Life. Steve’s first feature film as writer/director is the romantic comedy, Amanda, which is currently available everywhere on DVD. This November, Amanda will be sold in Europe and South America. A television deal follows the first part of 2011 in Asia. Visit the official website at: www.amandathemovie.com
