Actively pursue the things that make you happy

Sami Kriegstein graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California with an BA in Communication and a Masters of Communication Management, focusing on multimedia literacy and the international entertainment marketplace. An east-coast transplant, she has spent the last six years pursuing a wide variety of projects in the LA area, including internships at Red Hour Films, Current TV and SplashLife. In 2007, along with her lifelong best friend, Erica Dasher, Sami formed Not Just Dead Bodies, LLC, and began production on the feature-length documentary, “Speak Easy.” “Speak Easy” follows a group of quirky teenagers from around the country as they vie for high school glory in the little-known world of competitive acting, also known as Forensics. In addition to raising the budget, casting and hiring the crew, Sami organized 17 film shoots in 9 different states over the course of 12 months (taking off what would have been her senior year at USC). Currently, Sami is launching the first-annual Los Angeles Music Video Festival; which will debut in Fall, 2010. She was inspired to start the festival by her amazingly talented musician- and filmmaker-friends and hopes to provide them with an effective venue to showcase and celebrate their work. She is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up.
