Karen Margolese

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

I grew up in Montreal, and moved to Vancouver after high school. In my early 20's I started working in the film and television industry as a production assistant and &nbsp;quickly moved my way up to 2nd Assistant Director. I had some fantastic experiences in the industry and met some of my greatest friends. I managed to take quite a bit of time off in between projects and would travel the world, which opened my mind, my heart and my soul. Experiences I would never understood by reading books or watching films<div>For my 40th birthday I went to Bali, but did a stop over in Thailand where I came across the Mercy Centre. Here is where I strongly felt I needed to help tell a story, one worthy of telling and sharing with as many people as possible so I decided to take all chances and make a documentary.</div><div>My story is about the fabulous work the Human Development Foundation and the Mercy Centre is doing to give the children of the Bangkok slums opportunity. The selfless work of Director and Co-Founder Father Joe Maier and his partners in the community have saved thousands of children and provided for them in ways their own families never could of.</div>
