Coming to Los Angeles was the best decision I've ever made in my life. There's a huge competitiveness, but the movie business is here.

Julian Lara was born in Sevilla, a beautiful city in the south of Spain, in July 1975. In his childhood he made his own "movies" drawing them as if they were comic strips. But very soon he began making his own animated short films with his father's old video camera and plasticine toys made by himself. However, he decided to become a real filmmaker and he founded years later his own company dedicated mostly to the horror and fantasy movies and short films, and music videos and commercials as well. After a decade directing his movies in Spain (i.e. "Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies", "Killing Twice", "Zombie Xtreme"...) he moved in 2010 to Los Angeles to become a better and bigger filmmaker through going back to school and getting his film degree. Now, he's about to be directing his thesis in september, a short film where he will show his new and improved directing skills. <br><br>Julián Lara nació en Sevilla, en Julio de 1975. Desde los 5 años ya quería hacer sus películas dibujando sus propias historias a modo de cómic. En su adolescencia realizó varios cortos de animación con muñecos de plastilina hechos por él mismo, usando una antigua cámara de vídeo de su padre. Sin embargo, de mayor decidió fundar su propia productora para dedicarse a su género preferido, el cine fantástico y de terror, así como vídeos musicales y comerciales. Tras una década dirigiendo sus proyectos en España, con títulos como&nbsp;"Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies", "Killing Twice" o "Zombie Xtreme", en&nbsp;2010 se trasladó a Los Angeles para continuar su carrera cinematográfica volviendo a sus raíces: estudiando su Film Degree. Ahora se dispone a realizar su tesis, un cortometraje donde demostrará sus avanzadas y mejoradas habilidades como director.<br><br>Metiendo ganas:<br><br>El hecho de venirme a vivir en Los Angeles es lo mejor que pude hacer para darle el impulso que necesitaba mi carrera como director de cine. La competitividad es brutal, pero el negocio está aquí, sobre todo el cine de género fantástico y de terror, que es mi especialidad. Fue una apuesta arriesgada la de venirme a Los Angeles, sobre todo porque implicaba hacer un alto en el camino para formarme y replantearme mi carrera profesional, a lo que habría que añadir el hecho de vivir con los apuros propios de un estudiante, sobre todo en lo concerniente a la economía y al sobrevivir día a día en una jungla urbana como es Hollywood. Pero en The Los Angeles Film School he encontrado una gran familia donde me siento muy valorado.<br>Sin embargo, ahora llega el momento de la verdad, de demostrar que vine a encontrar mi sitio en la Meca del Cine, y para ello nada mejor que demostrar mi talento a través de la tesis que rodaré en septiembre, donde pretendo homenajear el cine que más me gusta: la películas de terror de los 80. "Till Death Do Us Part" es una comedia romántica... con zombies.<br>Ayudar la producción de este cortometraje es apoyar la carrera de este humilde cineasta que se ha venido a la otra parte del mundo arriesgándolo todo por cumplir con su sueño. Apoyar este cortometraje es apoyar el lanzamiento de mi carrera profesional en Hollywood. It was too risky to move to LA, mostly because it implied a halt in my filmmaking career and living again on a tight budget as a student enrolled at The Los Angeles Film School, where I'm feeling very much valuable.<br>However, now the time has come for me to show that I really came to find my place in Hollywood, and what a best way than showcasing my talent through my thesis short film that I'll be shooting in september, where I pretend to pay homage to my favorite genre: horror movies from the 80s.&nbsp;"Till Death Do Us Part" is a romantic comedy... with zombies.<br>Supporting the shooting of this thesis short film means supporting the career of this filmmaker who came here, to the other side of the world just chasing his longtime dream.
