It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I had a real opportunity to make music. Some talented friends invited me to sing with them. Our first gig was in a homeless shelter, where we played countrified, harmony laden tunes that were greeted with laughter and cheers. We got better, and I started writing songs on mandolin, becoming the reluctant frontman. Eventually I picked up the guitar and haven't looked back, except maybe to smile; I am a living testament "to better late than never".
