Bridging Culture

Doug LeConte has worked with a wide range of media since his graduation from the University of Windsor Visual Arts program in 1999. He has also worked as an educator with several First Nations organizations over the past 15 years. His experiences as an educator and artist have enabled him to draw bridges between the ideas of primary indigenous cultures and concepts of Western origin.

Doug has been working exclusively in video since 1997, but Chenrezig (2007) was his first personal statement attempting to integrate the art of Tibetan Buddhism with that of Western culture. The Idea for “Fire of the Final Days” was born in 2009 and continues to develop to this present day.
