Digital archaeologist focused on human settlements in synthetic spaces, especially games.

I'm a digital archaeologist interested in studying how people "live" in video game worlds. I've been involved with video game archaeology (aka "archaeogaming") since 2013 when I started archaeogaming.com. My book, Archaeogaming: An Introduction to Archaeology in and of Video Games was published by Berghahn Books in 2018. I led the team of archaeologists at the excavation of the Atari Burial Ground in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 2014.
