Kelly Takunda Orphan + The KTO Project = Give it to the People & Mafaro eZimbabwe!

The KTO Project performs original music rooted in tradition, led by Bay Area native Kelly Takunda Orphan. Kelly shares her unique social, cultural and personal perspective in her songwriting and arranging. In 1994, after recording and touring with Babatunde Olatunji, Kelly studied ethnomusicology at the University of Zimbabwe, where performed for such luminaries as Nelson Mandela and various African presidents. The KTO Project began in 2004 and their latest recording project is Mafaro eZimbabwe.
