Held Short Film

HELD is a short film about a teenage boy who struggles to accept that he has been a victim of a brutal and humiliating knife attack.

At the age of 17, Toby Wharton (writer and director) was attached on a train ride home from college. He wasn't being robbed and he didn't know his attackers; it was completely random. It wasn't until he got off the train and his friend pointed out the two cuts to his jeans, did he realise that he'd been stabbed. He felt ashamed, because he knew that being a helpless victim was not acceptable. It was the opposite of what he'd learnt a young man should be.
