My life's mission is to prevent another woman from dying or nearly dying due to complications of pregnancy.

In 1996, I nearly died in childbirth. In 1999, despite the best care, a neurotic patient, and assurances I would be fine, I almost died again - one week after the birth of my fourth. Because of those experiences, I co-founded the Preeclampsia Foundation. In 2011, I cofounded the Unexpected Project with Jennifer Binkley Carney to make a film about maternal death and near-death in the USA. We have filmed 20+ hours and need to finish our film. Please help us make that happen.
