About Blackout! Records

Blackout! Records was started in the NYC suburb of Yonkers, NY by Bill Wilson and Jim Gibson in 1988. Bill had been drawing t-shirts, flyers, and demo covers for his friends' hardore punk bands for years, and Jim worked at local indie record stores. The pair pooled their money to release a compilation of NYHC bands, called Where The Wild Things Are. Based on the success of that album, Blackout! continued to release great punk, hardcore and indie for the next decade and more.
