GRAMMY Award Winning Conga Player Based in San Francisco Bay Area

JAVIER CABANILLAS the uncommon conga player, not from the Caribbean or Tropical regions of Latin America, but rather from the most Northern part of Mexico and corner to all of Latin America, Tijuana. There, he taught himself to read and write music and play conga drums at the age of 21 while living on his own as a full-time student and working full-time in social work. In 2003, he dedicated his new focus and energy to music. Now, Cabanillas has been in the SF music scene since 2011.
