Huge Leaps of Faith Seem To Work
<p>Placing fourth in the World Spoon-playing Championships at 8 y.o. set Australian singer-songwriter Ms. Sam Wareing on the path to rock 'n' roll, but moving to Berlin in 2009 gave her the impetus to pick up an electric guitar and turn a decade of songs into her vivid Wasp Summer solo project. </p><p>Wasp Summer songs are intuitive, twisting spacious folk, pop, soul and alt.country sounds, and Sam has a dirty élan on electric guitar, but the factors that usually elicit attention are her expressive, tensile voice and her way with a hooky chorus.</p><p>Sam is also a founder of the Berlin-based A Headful of Bees artist collective and recently celebrated the 20th Sofa Salon, her living room concert series showcasing Berlin and touring singer-songwriters and poets. </p>
