LEFT ON PEARL: Women Take Over 888 Memorial Drive, Cambridge
LEFT ON PEARL is a one hour documentary about the 1971 seizure of a Harvard University-owned building by hundreds of Boston area women. Demanding a women's center and affordable housing for a community being displaced by university expansion, they held the building for ten days. This highly significant, but little-known event in the history of Second Wave feminism had a lasting impact, including the establishment of the longest continuously-operating community women's center in the U.S.
