Former Peace Corps Volunteer, advocate for empowerment through education
After working as an HIV/AIDS educator in the states, I decided to join Peace Corps as a health volunteer. Living and working near Kampala, Uganda from Sept. 2006- Nov. 2008, my life was permanently changed by the people I met, the projects I worked on, and my broadened understanding our human experience affected by our birthplace, income, and community resources. The children in my neighborhood became dear friends. Nassolo, Took and Nina continue to inspire me with their thirst for education.
