From backseat (window seat left side) of the old 1950's and 60's wood-paneled Ford station wagons, saw the US from Riverside to Reno; from upstate New York along the Finger Lakes to Lackland AF Base in San Antonio; from Florida to Cheyenne Wyoming; my dad stopped at every Indian mound, national monument & tourist attraction on & off the path. As a child of that era, I have a hippie's outlook on life steeped in an old-fashioned patriotism and pride in all things symbolic of the nation's military.
