As professional and volunteer, Kevin has exhibited extraordinary superior hands-on insight in management and supervision of employees and volunteers. A non-profit administrator and social service provider for 20 years, his positions have included that of Communications Director at the Thomas Merton Center, a longstanding peace and justice organization as well as Operations Manager and Volunteer Coordinator for the Rainbow Kitchen Community Center in Homestead, PA. He has also worked with youth, families, and homeless and mental health consumers while employed at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, North Shore Foster Care and SLB Radio Productions. His strong interpersonal skills have been utilized over the years to inspire, coach and motivate diverse groups and individuals. Kevin Amos is a broadcaster, events planner, cyber journalist and speaker. His radio career spans the past 30+ years on non-commercial and commercial radio as a host and producer. His radio credits include: Station Manager/Program Director at WYEP-FM; Music Director, air talent and producer at WCXJ-AM; Air talent at WDUQ-FM; Morning show producer, news reporter and air talent at WJJJ-FM and 104,7 “The Beat”. He has also produced and directed at James Street and the New Crawford Grill, a live interactive sports talk show “Champions Live” for the Champions Association. As Program Coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh Department of Parks and Recreation Special Events office, Kevin was responsible for coordinating yearly Black History Month activities and exhibits. One of the exhibits he created was “Our Musical Legacy”. He also produced yearly Jazz concerts at Riverview and Highland Parks where he worked directly with artists such as Walt Harper and Jimmy Ponder, to name a few. He was responsible for creating partnerships with the New Pittsburgh Courier, WQED, BNY-Mellon, August Wilson Center, Pittsburgh Housing Authority and Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild while employed by CITIPARKS. He is also an advocate of community development and historic preservation, within the African American community and is dedicated to economic development through the arts. His involvement in the arts spans most of his life. Morningstar Productions and Morningstar Enterprises are two entities created by Kevin. Currently in production is a weekly 6-hour radio program as part of his Black Music Education Project One of the objectives of this project is to identify and present role models, which represent the finest examples of the art form or cultural tradition to the community at large.“One to One” is a Sunday morning tradition for Pittsburgh radio listeners. Kevin is also the co-host and producer of an award winning radio program on WRCT-FM (www.wrct.org), "Ebony Spectrum" with his childhood friend and associate Rick Adams. Host and producer of Jazz Corner, LMB Network (www.lmbnetwork.com In addition, Kevin is also the producer of Digital Television Report and Communications in the Arts Seminars, creator of Pittsburgh Jazz Fan Appreciation Events and Pittsburgh Jazz Fan Meetup group on Meetup.com., and producer and creator of "Each One, Teach One" Music and Radio Seminars. Kevin is also a long time contributor to Soul-Patrol.com, the largest independent Black Music website and a freelance writer for the New Pittsburgh Courier and Examiner.com. He has also been a panelist for the Arts Observatory at Carnegie-Mellon University .
