I'm a recent college graduate with a passion for art and film, looking to find my place in the world.<div><br></div><div>I'm a huge admirer of the films of Jan Svankmajer, and hope to make stop motion films in addition to live action ones. In the meantime, I'm acquiring the skills I need by making friends with common interests and working on a fan based, non profit, passion project - "Sailor Moon and the Return of the Shadows." </div><div><br></div><div>Some might think of this as an overblown hobby or obsession, but I see it as an opportunity to learn the essentials of independent film making, notably:<br></div><div><br></div><div>1) making something great from few or no resources</div><div><br></div><div>2) convincing people to do things they don't want to do</div><div>(apparently running in heels isn't so popular? or filming in pouring rain?)</div><div><br></div><div>People tell me that being female is bad luck in the film industry, but I'm not going to let that worry me. Instead, I think I'll focus on the things I can change and control, such as work ethic and skills.</div>
