Producer of adventures, intellectual, artistic, and otherwise
<p>John Halbert studed philosophy at Swarthmore College as an undergrad, and film production in graduate school at the School for Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. While at USC, he produced or co-produced 10 Master's thesis projects. The first project he ever worked on as a producer was for the Dalai Lama. He has also produced live theater, music videos, and commercials. One of the student commercials he produced (outside of USC) is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He is a top-ranked player on the Hollywood Stock Exchange, where he runs the Original Idea Fund.</p> <p> </p> <p>Between undergrad and graduate school, he worked as a cook in gourment restaurants, in politics in Washington, DC, and as a computer consultant in New York City. He has worked at, volunteered for, and been educated at over 100 institutions and organizations, including The World Bank, General Motors, and Babcock & Brown. In college, he had two internships in Washington, DC fighting the death penalty. </p> <p> </p> <p>He currently is the Vice President of the Church Council of Hope Lutheran Church. <a href="http://www.hopelutheranchurch.net">www.hopelutheranchurch.net</a></p> <p> </p> <p>The "TEQP" in JohnTEQP stands for Talented Earthquake Productions, which was originally his radio show in college. He once owned the trademark to the term "Generation X." He has been known to write poetry and screenplays.</p>
