Meagan O'Shea

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

dance-theatre creator/performer

I'm a dance-theatre artist based in Toronto, Canada and have been making and performing since graduating from the School of Dance in Ottawa in 1996.

In 2007 I founded Stand Up Dance with the inaugural "dance like no one is watching" guerilla street dance project. Dancers performing to shared soundtracks heard in their headphones in unusual places. This project has evolved and grown and continues to use improv as its core value.

Stand Up Dance also umbrella's all my other activities, like the Stand Up Dance Toddler Dance Party (TM), and produces the shows I make. Which leads me to this show, The Atomic Weight of Happiness, that I made only in part. The collaborators are: Andrea Donaldson - creator/director, Lindsay Anne Black - set and costume design, Michelle Ramsay - lighting design, Verne Good - sound design, Rebecca Vandevelde - assistant lighting design and stage management, Susie Burpee - movement coach, Jenny So - props assistant and building, Jennifer Lee - original front of house an box office.
