Kids are changing the world, right now.
I'm a fun-loving & inquisitive student of life, global change agent, tree-hugging believer in the seemingly impossible, World citizen, & avowed enemy of status quo.

Few experiences in my life have affected me more than my work along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in the aftermath of the BP oil spill in the Summer of 2010. I founded an initiative called Spirit of the Gulf Coast in 2010 as a way of experiencing and documenting the situation in the local coastal communities.

This work led to my connection with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and the introduction to Devon and Devin. The IS Foundation is helping inspire kids and youth around the world to speak up on issues that are important to them.

Devon and Devin approached me in the summer of 2011 and told me they wanted to go to the coast and help with the oil spill in November 2011. This is when Kids of the Gulf was born.

The film will chronicle the journey of discovery and connection as Devon and Devin meet with kids and families along the coast who have been directly impacted by the spill. We will highlight the perils of fossil fuel dependence through the stories of real people whose lives have been turned upside down by this unprecedented disaster.

We want the film to be seen on Network TV as well as major film festivals and other public screenings. Through the film, we want to inspire kids to make more mindful choices around energy and resource use, and create movements for change in their own local communities.
