<p>Tara Mahoney is a media producer based out of Vancouver, BC. Before <br /> completing her master degree in media production from Ryerson <br /> University, Tara worked in the non-profit sector campaigning for the <br /> Sierra Club of Canada and at the Greenpeace Headquarters in <br /> Washington D.C.</p> <p>Along with environmental activism, social justice issues <br /> have always been important to Tara – illustrated most clearly in her first <br /> documentary film, Spe Salvi (Saved by Hope), a film that follows National Chief Phil <br /> Fontaine to the Vatican to seek an apology from Pope Benedict <span class="caps">XVI</span> for <br /> the culture damaged caused by Indian Residential Schools.</p> <p>Currently working at a non-profit film school, Tara is developing a <br /> multimedia project for youth civic engagement entitled Gen Why. This is an <br /> extension of her devotion to making meaningful productions that <br /> contribute to humanity’s advancement and the Earth conservation.</p>
