<style> </style>Co-artistic directors KellyAnn Nelson and Chris Eanes (who also happen to be real-life partners living in Over-the-Rhine) are both life-long choir nerds who love singing in choirs because it means hanging out with friends. KellyAnn has worked with every age of musician from kindergarten through deathbed and used to moonlight as a jazz singer. Chris has dedicated his life heretofore to studying the music of dead white guys, particularly those you’ve never heard of.<br><br> <style>  </style> <p class="MsoNormal" style=""><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">KellyAnn Nelson, Managing Artistic Director </span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Century Gothic";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";mso-bidi-font-weight: bold">of the<b> Young Professionals’ Choral Collective of Cincinnati (YPCC)<i> </i></b></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Century Gothic";">has had the privilege of reaching motivated musicians in a variety of ways throughout her career.  She is a sought-after choral music educator, and, as such, has served as guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator and presenter at various national, all-state, and regional honor choir events, conferences, and choral/vocal jazz workshops in Michigan, West Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina, Connecticut, Kentucky and Indiana. Her article “Making Music with Your Youngest Singers” was published in the ACDA Choral Journal in September 2008, and it reflects her passion for incorporating music theory and literacy skills into the choral rehearsal.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">   </span>She focuses on this type of skill development in her position as <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Director of Education & Outreach </b>for the<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"> Cincinnati Boychoir</b>, where she conducts the Training Choir, manages various outreach activities within the greater Cincinnati community, and has implemented a choral-based music theory curriculum for all of the boys in the program.<b><span style="">  <br></span></b></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman""><b><span style="mso-spacerun:yes"><br></span></b></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">KellyAnn enjoys working as both a performer and an artistic & administrative leader.  As such, she enjoys singing in the professional <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Vocal Arts Ensemble</b> under the direction of Donald Nally.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">   </span>She has also served as both the project manager and teaching artist for Linton Music’s Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as the associate conductor and outreach manager for the Cincinnati Children’s Choir.   <b></b></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Century Gothic";">KellyAnn most recently served as the Associate Conductor of the Princeton Girlchoir (in Princeton, New Jersey), where she conducted the Quarter Notes training choir and the select PGC Ensemble.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>She has taught middle school and high school choral music in Michigan, Ohio, and New Jersey for more than a decade and served as adjunct faculty at Western Michigan University, where she directed the nationally acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble Gold Company II.  She received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Music Education from Western Michigan University, and has studied both choral conducting and arts administration at University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style=""><br><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Century Gothic";"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic";mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"">KellyAnn, Christopher (YPCC's Associate Artistic Director), and their two mutts Gilbert (because he was found playing on Gilbert Ave. in Cincinnati) and Cosmo (because KellyAnn loves martinis...) love living in their loft in Over-the-Rhine.<br></span></p> <br>
