This film is nominated in several International Film Festivals, such as the 2003 FESPACO in Burkina Faso and “Vues d’Afrique, 2003” in Quebec. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">In 2004, she is awarded the Grand Jury Prize of her Film School’s annual showcase for the directing of her short film, DIG IT. The film also receives the award for “Best Acting Performance”. Maharaki receives her prize at “La Cinémathèque de Paris” before a panel of 15 international TV and motion picture professionals, including the guest of honor, American director, <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">Oliver Stone</b>. This award provides Maharaki with professional equipment from the TSF Group to shoot her next short film in Paris. As a result of this award, DIG IT is recognized officially by a number of film festivals around the world.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">In April 2006, Maharaki is invited to return to Barbados to direct the Barbados National Cultural Foundation’s award winning script, HOLDING ON. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arno Pro Italic"; mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">In February 2007, Maharaki receives “Le Prix Lumina Sophie” for her script, VIVRE.
