Benedict R. Fancy has received numerous awards and accolades for his screenwriting and filmmaking. His script ‘The Hotel Trade’ was nominated for a Zeebie Award in 2007 by the Irish Screenwriting Guild and the film premiered at the Belfast International Film Festival in 2008. His scripts also have landed finalist spots in screenwriting competitions heralded by the Fox Television Network and the British production company KAOS Films, a part of the UK National Film and Television School. Benedict has also written and directed several short films, including the psychological thriller The Calming. The film completed a successful festival run, ending in 2008 at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival. Benedict has also directed drama-based episodic television airing nationally on the WGN Network in Chicago as well as ABC affiliate stations and the cable network America One throughout the United States. In 2009, Benedict signed a feature film development deal with Princess Pictures in Ireland for his feature-length script titled The San Ysidro Leap, a film exposing the difficult border life experienced by illegal immigrants entering the US. Most recently, Benedict co-produced the top ten finalist of the Halloween Horror Nights Contest, Lamaze of the Dead for Chiller TV.
