Mothers of Victims and Survivors Network

Nairobi, Kenya

It is because we lost our loved ones to a police bullet—our lives forever changed—that our voices ring truest when we sing JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL!

MVSN was established as an independent community-based organisation in 2020. While the network began as a way for people—primarily mothers and grandmothers of victims—to counsel one another, from very early on, the network was also a decidedly political organisation. Central to the ethos of MVSN is that families of victims and survivors of police brutality must be at the helm of knowledge production and advocacy about ending police brutality.
