<div>Robert Poole’s interest in filmmaking stemmed from his desire to be in control of the roles he would play in his high school acting class. Now, the Nashville, Tennessee native is an up and coming talent. </div><div><br></div><div>While attending Fisk University, Poole directed his first film, a documentary about barbershops. Four years later, he would go on to write, direct and edit a fictionalized version of those experiences in his short film “The Earl Thompson Movement.” The film was screened and reviewed favorably at the 2006 Nashville Film Festival. That same year, Poole directed a Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) production of James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s Trombones” that featured the acting debut former NFL star Eddie George. </div><div><br></div><div>Poole is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in film production with a concentration in directing at Columbia University in New York City. "Brother's Keeper" is his thesis film.</div>
