From Undocumented Immigrant to Award-Winning Author

I am the author of the memoirs, The Distance Between Us and A Dream Called Home, and the novels Across a Hundred Mountains and Dancing with Butterflies. I'm originally from Guerrero, Mexico, where I lived in poverty. Both of my parents left Mexico and headed to the US to seek a better life. When I was nine, I came to the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant and went on to become the first in my family to graduate from college. Now I am a published author and motivational speaker.
