I train women from New Jersey, New York, Long Island, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens every night of the week and all day Saturday. I have trained hundreds of women and instructed over 3,000 classes. Women across the nation call requesting that I let them know when Women's World of Boxing comes to their city. My mission is to open a women-only boxing gym to promote female empowerment.

When I told one of the trainers that I was going to open a boxing gym just for women and offer a summer camp and after school programs for girls, he told me I could never do it. He said boxing was a man's world and that women would never come, and if you got them to come, they would never stay. This brings me to indiegogo.

I discovered boxing at the age of 31. I stood at 5'4 and weighed in at 215lbs. My self esteem was non-existent. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and was at risk for diabetes. The first 3 years in boxing I spent training my trainer on how to train me, learning the 'Sweet Science', building confidence and regaining control of me.

Once my total transformation was complete, I decided to take that year to train to compete. My trainer spent more time with me in that year than he did the entire 3 years I trained with him! When the time came to fill out the necessary paperwork, my trainer became furious and YELLED at me for wasting his time! It took 3 years to develop a good working relationship with him (minus the occasional invites to dinner) up until then. Apparently there was an age issue. He thought that I was 10 years younger than what I was at the time! He SCREAMED that I never told him how old I was! I told him, he never asked. He lost interest and moved on to training a younger girl who had just joined the gym.
