I have HIV - HIV does not have me. I live out loud, and I'm working to help others do the same.

I was diagnosed with HIV in February 2011 and it destroyed my life. I learned after the fact that I had been infected on purpose by someone with a devious plan - someone I called a friend. The physical illness compounded by the emotional and mental devastation almost destroyed me. &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>But in the midst of my own pain, I discovered the joy of helping others by accompanying them for HIV testing, counseling them and helping them get the treatment they need. My journey so far has been the most rewarding of my life. I gave up a 7-figure salary to found The No Day But Today Project in Manila, Philippines, where I live. We assist people get tested who are too stigmatized to go on their own. My volunteers and I provide in-depth counseling, HIV support groups, guided meditation, empowerment and capacity building workshops, lectures, seminars, HIV101 training, religious and spiritual guidance and network with medical and mental health professionals to help Filipinos get the help they need for free.<div><br></div><div>We are now registered with the Philippine Securities &amp; Exchange commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization (October 2011), and we are the only NGO in the Philippines focusing on bringing mental, emotional and spiritual wellness to people affected by HIV. &nbsp;We are quickly gaining the support of area treatment hubs, the Department of Health, other NGOs, UNAIDS and the religious community.</div></div><div><br></div><div>As part of our mission to reduce the spread of HIV in the Philippines, we have developed a series of TV and radio ads targeting stigma. &nbsp;The ads will be cheap and easy to produce, but we need help buying airtime on the 3 major networks to get the message out. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>For information on who we are and what we do, please visit our website at http://nodaybuttodayproject.com or see us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NDBTP.
