<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Eric Player received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Film with a Screenwriting emphasis from Brigham Young University in 1997, and a Masters of Fine Arts from Chapman University in 2008.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Eric began his career as a radio announcer on "Thunder 91.1" in Cedar City, Utah, in 1991. Later, Mr. Player was a camera operator and producer of closed-circuit broadcasts for the LDS Missionary Training Center. While there, from 1995 to 1998, Eric prepared sets, shot live content, and broadcast that content to an audience of thousands within a world-class training facility. He also wrote two training films designed to communicate official policy with wry humor.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">In 2001, while working in California Mr. Player was commissioned by Dave Calloway at Cinevision 2000 to write and submit a TV pilot with Michelle Wilson, for a courtroom drama series called “Civic Duty.” Though this script was completed, the pilot was never picked up.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Continuing his work as a writer, Eric Player has worked extensively for Kurt Hale, of Halestorm Entertainment, who most recently showed “The Singles 2nd Ward” and “Church Ball” in theaters. Mr. Player did some creative consulting with Kurt Hale when Mr. Hale was trying to launch “i” entertainment, the basic concept for which was a cable network based upon Airline versions of motion pictures. Mr. Player read screenplays, proofread their prospectus, tossed ideas, and contacted graphic designers as well as musical talent for the project. Later, Eric read screenplays for Halestorm Entertainment while they determined what movie projects to pursue, and adapted a Ruth Hale play for them.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">This adaption, “The Other Side of Love,” was optioned by Halestorm Entertainment in 2001 and then set aside so that they could focus on The Singles Ward, a feature independently released nationwide in 2001 and 2002. Mr. Player was an uncredited script doctor on The Singles Ward.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Other industry experience includes 2nd 2nd Assistant Director and Research coordinator on a small project for Galt's Gulch Productions. In addition, Eric has an ongoing collaborative relationship with David Howard, screenwriter for Galaxy Quest. Mr. Player also wrote freelance for Moviebytes.com and has read screenplays professionally.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">In summer 2003, Mr. Player returned to Utah and became involved in the curriculum overhaul project for Language Training at the LDS Missionary Training Center. As a Consultant for the Development Department, he was asked to script the complete English originals associated with that project.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">In 2004, Mr. Player had a script under option with Nighthawk Studios, and in 2006 Mr. Player had a short film in post–production and another in development. Also in 2006, Mr Player wrote all (feature-length total equivalent) the scripts for the 2nd grade level "power-speak" language study course, on contract through Motive Media, LLC of Santa Barbara, California.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Coming to Chapman University in Orange, California, and getting his Graduate in Producing in 2008, Mr. Player produced or was on the production team of 18 more films. &nbsp;His two thesis films (“Nothing But The Best,” and “Free Lunch”) both became festival award winners.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Eric was a guest of the 2010 Newport Beach Film Festival in Newport Beach, California with his short film, “Nothing But The Best.” Eric was also co-writer on "The Given," which premiered August 8, 2010, at The Paragon, Bangkok, Thailand, for Film Expo Asia 2010. &nbsp;In 2011 he was an associate producer on "The Secret Life of Jonathan Sky."</p>
