His widely acclaimed first book was <a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/0849913985?tag=thespeforgro-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=0849913985&adid=1DV72HR8H1WRREYYS5D5&&ref-refURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.divinenobodies.com%2Fblog%2F" target="_blank"><em>Divine Nobodies: Shedding Religion to Find God (and the unlikely people who help you)</em></a>. His follow-up book, which Publishers Weekly said "touched a nerve," was, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Wide-Open-Spaces-Paint-Number/dp/0849913993/ref=pd_sim_b_2" target="_blank"><em>Wide Open Spaces: Beyond Paint-by-Number Christianity</em></a>. Jim's most recent book, igniting a firestorm of controversy, is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Being-Jesus-Nashville-Jim-Palmer/dp/1469758334/ref=pd_sim_b_2" target="_blank"><em>Being Jesus in Nashville: Finding the Courage to Live Your Life (whoever and wherever you are)</em></a>.</p> <p>In addition to being an author and speaker, Jim is a spiritual director nd coach, retreat and workshop leader, adjunct professor, and social media voice for people seeking God and exploring spirituality beyond organized religion. Jim also inspired the "Occupy Religion" movement and message. He is an ordained minister and has a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Seminary in Chicago.</p> <p>Jim's background also includes directing a non-profit agency for at-risk kids, and later serving as the U.S. Director of Education for International Justice Mission, an international human rights organization based in Washington, D.C.</p> <p>Jim lives in Nashville with his wife, and two daughters.
