Writer and Producer, and All Around Good Guy

Jamison Leigh (Jim Henson) started practicing his Oscar speech at the ripe old age of fourteen, back in Grand Blanc, Michigan. His first writing and directing gig was in fifth grade when he adapted the Witches' scene from Shakespeare's Macbeth, which at the time he thought was "Mac-A-Beth."

His first love has always been writing, but that love took a detour when he received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Central Michigan University. Realizing that his computer keyboard skills were much better than his piano keyboard skills, and that he would never have to send actors and directors to the Principal's Office, he moved to Los Angeles, where he studied screenwriting with Golda David, the first woman producer at Disney, and J. Kenneth Rotcop, former Creative Head at Embassy Entertainment.

Jamison is a director and a playwriight as well as a screenwriter, and has written several screenplays in a variety of genres, including Drama, Biopics, Thrillers, and Romantic Comedies. The romantic comedy One More Day was optioned by Deja View Entertainment, and his TV pilot Strip Show was optioned by Gravel Road Productions. His horror screenplay TRUCK STOP was purchased by Earthwalk Entertainment. Shortly thereafter, he co-wrote and produced was a mockumentary about acting classes, Acting The Hard Way.

Strong Men has been a labor of love for Jamison, with the first draft being written over twenty years ago (Thank God for the writer of The King's Speech) as the male version of Steel Magnolias, but realizing that men would probably grunt more than they would talk in a small gym, he kept working on it over the years until the script finally found its voice. Taking the advice of Writer/Director/Producer Marc Scott Zicree, Jamison decided to move into hyphenate territory and Strong Men is his feature film debut.

One thing he's learned throughout the years is that all work needs to be service-oriiented, and he has committed the rest of his stay here to reaching out to those that have been forgotten, or ignored by our society for whatever reason, and giving them a face via telling compelling, inspriational stories about them.

Avoiding the cold and the snow of Michigan like the plague, Jamison still lives in Los Angeles, is single, and will soon be the owner of an adorable baby miniature bulldog, possibly named Churchill. He also promises never to cheat on Writing with his elusive mistress Music ever again.
