Art, in one form or another, has always been a huge part of my life. Whether through the movement of dance, the stroke of a paintbrush, or the click of a camera shutter, an innate appreciation and propensity for creativity has lived within me.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. It was here, during my first year of high school, where Photography took a leading role in my life. I fell quickly in love with my camera’s viewfinder as I learned to frame the world through my own eye. Yet it was in the darkroom where the true magic happened. As my first 8x10 print developed in the chemistry, I knew then and there that photography and I were to be committed to one another for life.

After high school, I spent one year at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and later transferred to Drexel University in Philadelphia to study photography. At Drexel, I received an excellent education, invaluable experience, and ultimately a bachelor’s degree in science in 2002.

While a junior in college I received the opportunity to spend six months in Santa Fe, New Mexico, gaining real world experience assisting photographers, including master printer and photographer, Alan Ross. It was here I also met my husband, resulting in my relocation to Santa Fe after graduation.

As a result of various traditional and digital training and years spent photographing a vast array of subjects, I can say with confidence that portraits-specifically of children and pets-offer me the most inspiration and joy. Therefore, children and pets are the primary focus of my work.

After nine years of living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I am continuing my photography business and starting a new life with my husband and pets in Austin, Texas. I return to Santa Fe often to photograph, but am very much enjoying my acclimation into the Austin community.
