In selecting a college, Dustin was drawn to Oglethorpe University because of its small size and open approach to education. The freedom to create your own direction, allowed Dustin to focus his efforts on Directing and Producing plays. While at Oglethorpe, Dustin founded a community theater company in his home-town of Chattanooga and directed and produced his first full-length play, Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park. At Oglethorpe, Dustin was instrumental in founding the student production company Rehearsal Room C, which would come to dominate his collegiate experience. RRC received awards and accolades from the student body as well as the faculty, and gave Dustin the opportunity to direct the musical Bat Boy his junior year. Through RRC, Dustin developed an annual one act festival that brought student written, directed and performed plays to the OU community. After graduating from Oglethorpe in 2010, Dustin has remained active in Atlanta theatre, working as a director and lighting designer.
