<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 36.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman';"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><strong>A. Nia Austin-Edwards (ANAE)</strong> began her dance training in Atlanta, GA, at Total Dance / Dancical Productions, Inc. She went on to major in dance at Tri-Cities Visual and Performing Arts Magnet High School and received a B.F.A. in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has worked with a variety of phenomenal dance artists such as Gus Solomons, Jr., Deborah Jowitt, Susan Marshall, Ronald K. Brown, Sean Curran, Adia Whitaker, Camille A. Brown, and Stefanie Batten Bland. Nia, the dancer, remains an associate member of Total Dance Company and an apprentice of Axam Dance Theater Experience in Atlanta. She also works with JoiLynn Productions and is a member of Brooklyn-based ASE Dance Theatre Collective. Most recently, Nia has become a supporter and advocate for sexual assault survivors as a performer in A Long Walk Home, Inc.’s SOARS: Story of A Rape Survivor. </span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 36.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman';"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">As an instructor, Nia has taught a variety of dance classes to all ages at Atlanta’s Total Dance / Dancical Productions, Inc., Gainesville Ballet School, BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and the Brooklyn Friends School, among other places. </span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 36.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman';"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">ANAE, the choreographer, has presented work at New York University along with a variety of stages, clubs, and venues in NYC thanks to hip hop artist Genesis Be. Since 2007, ANAE has worked closely with Genesis, choreographing, casting dancers, staging shows, and performing. In 2010, Genesis premiered her music video “I Don’t Discriminate” which was co-choreographed by ANAE and long time friend Devere Rogers. </span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 36.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman';"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">As Nia continues to perform throughout NYC and beyond, ANAE works to further develop her own choreographic voice merging the talents manifested in the many parts of her being.</span></p> <div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><br /></span></div>
