We seek to create a mosaic mural in East Harlem to memorialize the legacy of Dr. Pantoja, founder of ASPIRA, the Puerto Rican Forum and Universidad Boricua. Description THE INSPIRATION: A passionate, indomitable leader, Dr. Pantoja (1922-2002) sought to empower Puerto Ricans and other Latinos through education, advocacy and the leadership development of its youth. Dr. Pantoja was the recipient of the 1996 Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian.
