Kelly Zombor

<p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">Kelly is a freelance multi-disciplinary artist living and working in both Calgary and Vancouver. Kelly works as a sound designer, composer, engineer, musician, writer, producer, director, web developer, electronics hacker, visual artist, tattooer and boom operator. As a boom operator, Kelly has spent the last 26 years in the business and has worked for many of Hollywood's biggest studios including Paramount, Warner Bros, Disney, Fox and many others. Kelly was the boom operator on Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, which earned a 1992 Oscar nomination for best sound.</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">Kelly has produced and recorded 4 albums as well as numerous singles while co-owner of The Noise Floor, a recording studio in Vancouver.</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">Kelly was a member of&nbsp; The Ad Hoc New Music Ensemble, who, in part through a residency at the Banff Centre, created&nbsp;Art/Song (The Romance Project), a cross disciplinary collective creation that explored the fusion of Classical Contemporary music (specifically Art Song) with new music and theatrical forms.&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">Kelly served as sound designer and composer for the Shakespeare Co. production of MacBeth and the Art Ranch's Stop Thinking.</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">In 2010, Kelly served as producer and director of a music video for Ruth Purves-Smith and the 581.</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">As a musician Kelly has explored many musical genres: guitarist for the mid 80's punk band the Savage Patch Kids, singer and guitarist for 90's grunge favorites Papaya Gunwash and, at the turn of the 20th century, shifted his interest to free music/noise with the electronic duo Flaco.</span></p> <p class="FreeForm"><span style="font-size: medium;">Recently, Kelly has been working as a web designer, video producer and composer for Ursudio Multi Media, a Calgary based web development firm. When there is spare time, Kelly can be found hacking and re-purposing heirloom electronic toys and playing his home made theremin.</span></p>
