I am Joana Vitória Martins, a portuguese girl that about one year and a half ago decided to leave Europe, looking for something that was missing in my life. First i arrived in Brazil first to start travelling around South America. As soon as i got to Cuzco in Perú, i realized that this country, and specially this city was too special for me to leave and continue travelling. Luckely i found a job one week after,as a Volunteer Project Coordinator, and that experience, being close to the andean communities, and families that they suffer of such a lack od education, i got attached to them, and realized that i couldnt turn my back to this, so i decided to stay. Its been already more than one year in Peru, and each day i found more reasons to stay, even sometimes its not easy. Here, even somethings look easier, there are other that we have to struggle more. But if it wasnt like that, anything would be so challenging for me.
I am an art-therapist teacher in the Sacred Valley of Cuzco, in Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, but at the same time i help some communities to improve their lives. I feel that i still have a long time in Peru, to give and receive from this beautiful culture.
