Frank McGinnis
Poughkeepsie, New York, United States
Singer/Songwriter since single digits.
I grew up the middle child of seven kids in a working class family in the Northwestern Catskills. From about age 5 I would tell my mom I preferred when I didn't know the words to a song so I could make up my own. Combining that with plunked out, repeatable melodies on various toy-like instruments, I wrote my first songs. Despite periods of jaded resignation, I have never been able to stop myself from writing songs, recording them, and performing them. It's like a reflex. It's a bodily function.
