Why I am doing this for Yali.

About 10 years ago I was holidaying in Kos when I saw a little black dog whose leg was broken and it had been dragging it around ever since, despite this he was such a happy little chap but it was terrible to see - god knows how long it had been like this or how it happened. Turns out an old guy who lived near by in a small stone hut had about 10 dogs including the one with the broken leg. He didnt care much for the dogs and let them roam the streets and by our hotel.

It was heartbreaking. Of course there was plenty of cats and kittens also all hanging around without a home or any owner to feed them. A few days before we were due to leave a Swedish couple arrived whom also found the dog situation very distressing and played with this lovely little dog around the pool area; it was nice to see the little chap getting all this attention despite his disability. On the last day as we were about to leave we came down to see that the dog had a shiny red collar on, a silver shiny food bowl and best of all, a white bandage around his leg!

The Swedish couple had taken him to that vets and were taking him back home! I imagine he would have spent some time in Qurantation at a high cost. I will always remember the compassion this couple had, not only did they realise the suffering endured by this poor dog but they were prepared to give him a proper chance in life.

This is for every cat or dog you've seen on holiday, which pulls at your heart strings but leaves your conscience when you return back home and back to your reality. Thankyou to all those that have contributed and making my dream to save a little life from a lifetime of uncertainty. He will be loved as much as my other two beautiful rescue cats at home who can't wait to meet their younger brother.
