I live in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. My home is along the Eramosa River, in the Grand River Watershed, somewhere in between Six Nations and Mississauga territory.

I've worked on social justice and environmental issues for the past 10 years, and am currently taking a step back from an organizing role. These days I'm busy being a parent and a partner, and growing sprawling gardens around our home. I'm also on the Community Editorial Board with the Guelph Mercury, Guelph's mainstream newspaper.

From 2005 to 2010 I produced the weekly radio show Healing the Earth on CFRU 93.3fm. Also in that time I was part of co-founding the food security organization the Appleseed Collective, the Guelph chapter of the Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Movement, the Guelph Free School, and LIMITS – Land Is More Important Than Sprawl. I'm also being sued by the City of Guelph for $5 million, with four other friends, for our role in stopping construction of the Hanlon Creek Business Park.

As for third party recognition, in 2005, through Healing the Earth Radio I won a scholarship and participation as a youth delegate in the 2005 United Nations Climate Change Conference. In 2009 I received the Bonnie McCallum Award for Unsung Environmental Hero, and was the Guelph Mercury’s Male Newsmaker of the Year.

The book project that I'm raising money for, Tangled Roots, would be my first published book. I'd like it to help people find more allies across subcultures, and inspire more frontline action to protect the earth. And I hope it helps everyone who reads it become a little more radical, and supportive of a culture of resistance.
