My novel Janaina: Three continents. One ocean. Four centuries. A sacred journey of twins.

I’m a poet, philanthropic consultant, Harlem native and Yale/Harvard graduate. Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to the cause of racial equity in Brazil. As a Fulbright fellow in Brazil, I founded POMPA with the Steve Biko Institute, training Afro-Brazilian youth for public service careers. I’ve collaborated on the US-Brazil Joint Action Plan Against Racism and Kellogg Foundation’s racial equity fund in Brazil. My writings have been published in Essence and in several anthologies.
