Tuscany, Italy
An American glass artist trying to help a dying tradition survive through art.
Originally from Seattle, I traveled to Europe in 2001 and fell in love with Italy, and a girl I met there. I've worked as a chef all over Italy and Seattle. In 2003 I returned to Seattle and became so completely fascinated by glassblowing that I left my chef job to start a career in glass. In Tuscany, I am the only artist with the capability to blow glass outside of an industrial setting, and offering that possibility to others will change the course of the future of glassblowing here.
