If I could live in one alternate time period, I would live at the height of Impressionism. I would join Monet at Giverny, tease Tissot about his dresses being prettier than his women and try to cheer up Cezanne so he wouldn't slash so many of his beautifully blue paintings. I would share a pound of lentils a week with Pissarro, because food is not as important as art, but I would relish the evenings when Monet would charm us into a full meal, because food is more import than art.
