Brad Standley

All that I am, and all that I have is music. I want to give that to you.

<p>Brad Standley grew up on a small farm in Sebastopol, California, raising foxflies and picking lychees. Always a bit of a lone-wolf, he spent a fair amount of his childhood creating and defining his own little universe of bizarre vocal sounds and melodic improvisations. Having trouble finding a home for these sounds and melodies he ended up creating a world for himself as an actor, which he tasted for the first time at the age of 12, much to the shock of his parents back on the farm.</p> <p>At that point his decision was made. He would become a huge star on Broadway and moonlight as a <span class="caps">CIA</span> operative/astronaut and then become the President of the United States of America by the age of 16. This dream brought him to College and then very quickly to several large professional productions.</p> <p>He spent two years on a secret <span class="caps">CIA</span> mission/European stage tour and luckily enough he had brought a guitar along. He didn’t know how to play guitar, but he thought it looked cool and incredibly sophisticated to be wandering around Europe with a guitar on his back. However, his little universe of sounds started coming back to him on the long, sleepless tour bus rides and at some point his fingers started playing along.</p> <p>After coming back to America and moving to the City of Angels he started focusing on his first album. It was then that he met up with his ex-secretary of state/<span class="caps">CIA</span> handler Ricardo Esteves Diaz Leal. The dynamic duo hit it off once again. Ricardo came from a the land of The Pixies and The Anarchists and Brad had a very strong blue collar-folk influence. This dichotomy led to the unique sound that has become Brad Standley &amp; The Foxflies and will set the stage for the world to come. <span class="caps">THE</span> <span class="caps">HYBRID</span> is born.</p>
