Waking up one morning, I squinted from the bright light and thought; dang, did I sleep outside again? Nope.

It was Pop and he had bought the first home camcorder I had ever seen. Sure, I knew movies and TV were filmed with these things but I surely didn’t know “I” would have one. Well, technically I didn’t, but I knew I would soon enough.

Now as a writer and director and the ever-present sound guy/editor/cinematographer/producer/every-other-position-you-can-think-of-on-a-film-set, I have been able to do what my Pop was doing. OK, maybe I don’t film every second of some kids’ lives but I do capture some pretty special moments.

From shooting an entire promotions campaign with a simple FLIP camera; yes that’s how I FLIP; to stacking VCRs for editing and shooting miniDV and even using my Pop's camera, I have been fascinated with capturing life and its pictures. I have been lucky to see my work on many screens, big and small, and maybe one day I’ll see it in 3D.

See you at the movies.
